Pre-Wedding/ Wedding
Sukhman & Mukul Pre-Wedding
The Brief
Create a timeless, highly editorial pre-wedding gallery that steps away from traditional, brightly colored engagement shoots. The objective was to utilize the historic, gothic architecture of Knox College to craft a series of intimate, purely black-and-white portraits that feel like classic cinema.
The Challenge
Knox College's intricate stonework, deep corridors, and vaulted ceilings create complex, challenging lighting environments. The location is characterized by heavy, enveloping shadows juxtaposed against bright, directional window light. The documentation required mastering this high-contrast dynamic range to perfectly expose the couple while preserving the moody, atmospheric texture of the venue.
The Approach
Embraced a strictly monochromatic visual strategy to strip away distractions and focus entirely on light, architectural geometry, and human connection. Leveraged the venue's archways to naturally frame the subjects, utilizing the stark directional light to carve out striking silhouettes, rim-lit profiles, and intimate close-ups.
The Work
Delivered a cohesive, meticulously graded black-and-white gallery. The final visual package juxtaposes the immense structural grandeur of the location with the quiet, genuine intimacy of the couple, resulting in a striking set of heirloom-quality fine-art portraiture.
